I started dating my boyfriend about a year ago, who I absolutely adore. About 6 months ago, he asked me to meet his family, and they're great! His mother is doll, her cooking sucks, but I've found it in my heart to look past that! His father is a charmer, with a great sense of humor. But there is the sister...This sixteen year old little witch from the deepest of the darkest depths in hell! She hangs up when I call the house, and makes the most out of every open opportunity to make me look bad or to embarrass me in front of the family! Whenever I am around, she talks nonstop about his ex-girlfriend who she claims to have just absolutely loved to death. I do everything to try and get on her good side, but she's not having it! I am almost at the end of my rope here, giving up! It seems she will just never come around. I would just let this ride out the way it is, but I have decided I want to propose to my boyfriend, and would love to be able to do that knowing that his whole family was willing to accept me! As a last resort, what should I do to come to terms with her? I could never understand why she hates me so much in the first place!

Honestly, I would just ignore her. She is not worth the time, trouble, and effort you would have to put into it. That and she is only 16. I'm assuming he is the older brother, since you are talking about proposing. If it really bugs you so much that you just have to have it out with her, I would say talk to your boyfriend, lovingly of course, and have him deal with it. All that could come out of you confronting her is her having more ammunition against you.
